  About the Council

Since the 1980s, the Florida West Coast Employee Benefits Council provides an educational and networking forum for employee benefits professionals in the Tampa Bay area. Through dinner meetings with scheduled speakers and annual educational workshops, the Council provides members with timely information on a variety of employee benefits matters.

About the Members

The majority of our membership consists of health insurance consultants, retirement plan investment advisors, employer plan sponsors and human resources personnel, health insurers, retirement plan investment providers, third party administrators, and trustees, actuaries, attorneys, and accountants whose practices focus on employee benefit issues.

Membership Benefits

Annual dues entitle Members to attendance at all Dinner Meetings (including the Holiday Party) and a reduced rate for the Educational Workshop, generally held in April or May. 7 monthly Dinner Meetings featuring presentations from experts on the leading edge of employee benefit issues (including benefit practitioners, Internal Revenue Service and Department of Labor agents) and 1 Holiday Party are available from September through May (the Council operates on an August 30 fiscal year end). Members may bring guests (for a guest fee) to any Dinner Meeting.

About the Council's Structure

The Council is tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. It is operated by its membership on a volunteer basis with all dues used to fund Dinner Meetings and the Educational Workshop. The Council exists as a non-profit open forum for member information. As an approved tax-exempt organization under Internal Revenue Code § 501(c)(3), use of council membership in any form for advertising or solicitation of business is strictly prohibited. Any such conduct may result in the suspension or revocation of membership.
